ACTION PLAN FOR SUCCESS

STEP 1 – BUILDING A SUPER NETWORK Utilizing Who You Might Know Along With the BROWNING ASSOCIATES REFERRAL NETWORK

There are 4 crucial parts to step 1. Each part A-D must be executed precisely as described below before moving to the next step!

Step 1 A. Data dump. This is the most critical step. It is crucial, that you do not project or contemplate who may or may not be part of this data. It is absolutely essential that the only criteria you use to build this list are the persons being listed know your name… We would expect to generate a minimum of 300 people for this particular list. If you are unable to do so, we will sit with you to assist in extracting and building this list.

Primarily, this particular name list will be constructed from various sources such as business cards from present and past acquaintances, your email address book (anybody) you have sent or received an email from in the last decade, professional or trade organizations, former co-workers, vendors, customers/clients, volunteer, nonprofit organizations, schools, people you have written checks to or done business with, college alumni, LinkedIn, Facebook, people in your spouse’s network, etc. Please see the network development document sent as part of your welcome letter…

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AT LEAST 200 PEOPLE THAT WILL RECOGNIZE YOUR NAME, PLEASE DO NOT MOVE ON TO STEP 1B…WE WILL WORK THROUGH THIS STEP WITH YOU… We will begin building network contacts from the Browning Network in Step 2B. Below…

Step 1 B. Categorizing the data. This is a process of separating names in 3-4 relationship function groups. IE. Group 1 is made up of solely business contacts. Group 2 is Friends etc. If necessary, we will explain how we do this.

Step 1C. Determining a specific outreach strategy. I.E. For most contacts, a letter will be used via email. Again, we will work with you to customize the best and most effective plan.

Step 1D. Provide coaching on how to connect with people in your network. It is critical that we do not move on to step 2 below until the four parts of step 1 are complete. It’s equally critical that we don’t move to step 1B until 1 A is absolutely complete.

STEP 2 – THERE ARE 3 CRUCIAL PARTS TO STEP 2. 

EACH PART A-C MUST BE EXECUTED PRECISELY AS DESCRIBED HERE BELOW.

Step 2A. Here we are beginning the physical outreach. Assuming that your message is pristine and your comfort level with the outreach and your value proposition is clear and concise we then would begin the physical outreach. Of course, the above is assumed because we won’t begin step 2 until we’ve finished 1D and have completed proper coaching.

Step 2B.WHERE THE RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD - Using the new/refined skill set acquired in step 1D, you will begin outreach to 10 people that you know. We want to start with people you know because we know the reception will be much warmer and easier. Following the outreach to those 10, you will consult or advise with your Project Manager and we will then begin outreach to people in the Browning referral network. You will only be connected with the people we speak with or receive confirmation by email submission. We expect that number to be about 1 or 2 or many more at a time depending on your ability and availability.

Step 2C. – Following these calls, you will have a formal discussion with your senior consultant as a means of addressing your successes and potential obstacles. The objective here is to continue refining your outreach with a focused objective on asking for additional referrals. Additional contact referrals are the heart and soul of networking and are critical to your success.

Step 3. CAREER ASSESSMENT - RESUME & EXECUTIVE BRANDING DOCUMENTS - Your Project Manager will work intensely with you to perform an ongoing real-world career assessment. Industry targets and career direction are a critical prerequisite to developing your next-generation brand and associated resume/documents. This process will begin and continue as we are in the process of creating your network, as explained in STEP 1 above. The typical turnaround time is 21 days from the day we receive your completed resume development documents.

SOCIAL MEDIA– We will work with you to ensure your LinkedIn profile emulates your latest and best resume and you are utilizing this platform to its fullest potential. We will invite some of your network developed in Step 1 to also be your LinkedIn contacts.

HOW TO APPLY TO PUBLISHED JOBS – We will advise on this as necessary. How to best apply to a published position by way of utilizing the network developed in step 1.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
